JKX Oil & Gas became a partner of an international expert event dedicated to reforms in Ukraine’s energy sector

On May 23, an expert seminar “Ukraine’s Energy Sector Reforms: Assessments and Future Outlook” was held in London on the platform of the Chatham House Analytical Center. The partner of the event was JKX Oil & Gas, the parent company of JV PPC.

During the first panel Ukrainian and international experts, namely, Andriy Kobolev, Chairman of the Board of NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine”; Olga Belkova, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Fuel and Energy Complex, Nuclear Policy and Nuclear Safety; Andris Piebalgs, EU Commissioner for Energy (2004-2009), researcher at the Florentine School of Regulatory Policy, discussed key achievements and challenges of the Ukrainian energy sector.

During the second panel, there was a discussion on the future of Ukraine’s gas sector and the effective implementation of its potential. Among the speakers were Claire Spottiswood, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine; Roman Opimach, Executive Director of the Association of Gas Producers of Ukraine; Natalya Katser-Buchkovska, People’s Deputy of Ukraine.

Today, energy security is one of the key issues for Ukraine and for many countries in the world. Establishing international communication on this issue between leading experts, government and energy sector representatives plays an important role in strengthening energy security.
